The incident was reported just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to CFD Chief Steve Haun.
“The fire was found in a dumpster located near the building,” Haun said.
Employees reportedly used forklifts to pull the container away from the building.
No injuries were reported.
- Cleveland Police are searching for a suspect who took a laptop computer and other items from a car while the driver was inside a convenience store.
The report was filed Tuesday by officer Kody Fox.
According to his report, Caryn Farmer said she had left her vehicle unsecured. When she exited the store, she saw a slender white male with dark hair leaving the area with items from her car.
Farmer approached the suspect who gave her a bag containing the laptop, then the suspect reportedly fled the scene.
Followup investigation is being conducted by detective Matt Jenkins of the Cleveland Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
- Bradley County officials arrested a woman on narcotics charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 75.
Valerie Scott, 47, of Oxford, N.C. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine and failure to drive within traffic lane.
Deputy Johnny Stokes reported he observed a blue van travelling north on the interstate. The driver crossed the center lines and fog lines several times.
A K-9 search of the vehicle revealed alleged narcotics inside, according to the report. Stokes located the suspected narcotics inside a backpack behind the driver’s seat.
Scott was taken into custody and transported to the Bradley County Jail, where she was booked on the charges. She has been released from jail, according to Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.
