A small rockslide was cleared in western Polk County this morning.

According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports, the slide occurred around 5 a.m. and was quickly cleaned up by Tennessee Department of Transportation personnel.

The slide occurred near Mile Marker 13 on Highway 64 in the Ocoee River Gorge.

- Bradley County Sheriff’s Office deputies rushed to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Trewhitt Road just before 8 this morning.

Bradley County 911 dispatchers reported the car was on its side in a pond in the 3700 block of Trewhitt.

Reports indicated there may have been a person inside the vehicle.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they learned the vehicle was not occupied.

The driver of the vehicle was eventually located and had not suffered any injuries, according to reports.

Assisting at the scene were members of Bradley County Fire-Rescue and Bradley County Emergency Medical Service.

Ponding on roadways due to heavy rain overnight could be a possible factor in the crash.

Bradley County Road Department was advised of standing water in the roadway and area of the crash.

- Bradley County Emergency Medical Service also responded to a crash at Blackburn Road and APD 40 earlier today.

Just after 7 a.m., two minivans collided, according to Stan Clark of BCEMS.

One of the vehicles went off the roadway and into nearby trees. Clark said that vehicle’s occupants — the female driver and her 7-year-old son — had minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The Cleveland Police Department is in charge of the crash investigation.

Assisting at the scene were members of the Cleveland Fire Department.

- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of investigating a fatal crash that reportedly occurred during the weekend in Polk County.

Details of the crash have not been released, but according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office officials, the wreck occurred near Highway 411 and the lone vehicle involved burst into flames.

West Polk Fire and Rescue along with PCSO deputies responded to the scene.

THP is expected to release additional information later today.
