Long distance relationships aren’t easy.

Jessica White knows this because her mother, Lt. Col. White, is stationed in Kuwait. Distance, however, can’t keep Jessica and her mother apart. They enjoy communicating by using Skype.

On Nov. 16, Jessica and her entire fifth-grade class were able to talk to her mom via Skype. Their conversation was lighthearted as her mom did a show-and-tell with students, visually sharing with them items from Kuwait to identify correctly. It didn’t take the students long to identify a ketchup package from Burger King even though the print on the packaging was not in English.

Mom enjoyed the online conversation with the students of Tennessee Christian Preparatory School, and the students enjoyed hearing stories about another culture. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone.

The school was thankful Jessica’s mom was able to share some of her time with the class.
