A Cleveland woman died of injuries she received Wednesday in a crash in Chattanooga.

Lynda Suggs, 68, died Friday in a Chattanooga hospital, according to Chattanooga Police Department officials.

Area media reports indicated that Suggs was driving a Honda CRV.

Dekotah Moreno, 19, was driving a Jeep Liberty when she reportedly lost control and crossed into the median on Interstate 24, then travelled into the eastbound lane where Suggs was driving.

According to Chattanooga Police information officer Timothy McFarland, Moreno’s vehicle went airborne, then collided with Suggs’ SUV.

Moreno was ejected from her Jeep.

Suggs was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Moreno was also transported to the hospital where she was listed in serious condition.

McFarland said traffic along I-24 eastbound was shut down for several hours as the initial investigation was launched.

The investigation is continuing.
