The Greater Cleveland Community Concert Band has begun rehearsals for its spring appearances.

This spring’s concert will be Broadway Off Broadway in Cleveland.

Selections include songs from “The Sound of Music,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Mary Poppins” and others.

Two performances are planned — the spring concert’s date will be announced later and also a performance at Evening Shade in downtown Cleveland on Memorial Weekend.

This performance will include the Broadway numbers as well as some patriotic numbers to celebrate Memorial Weekend.

All interested musicians — good, bad, old, young — are invited to attend as this is your community band.

Just dust those old horns off when you get them out of the closet and come join us. The band meets every Monday evening at 7 in the band room of Cleveland High School.

Come a little early for your first rehearsal to pick up music and find a seat.

Don Bindrim, conductor, said that if you can only play one note and play it at the right time you are welcome to join this group.

This is a fun group of people who enjoy playing musical instruments and enjoy the social atmosphere.
