The Cleveland Storytelling Guild will present Megan Hicks as the featured storyteller for its 18th annual Ocoee Story Fest.

The storytelling concert will be held Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Museum Center at Five Points. The Museum Center is also a co-sponsor of this year's event.

During the week prior to the festival, Hicks will share storytelling in six local schools through the generous support of the Arts in Education arm of the Allied Arts Council of the Cleveland Bradley County Chamber of Commerce.

Since its inception in 1991, the Cleveland Storytelling Guild has been working to keep alive the ancient art of the oral tradition.

Ocoee Story Fest, one of the longest running storytelling festivals in Tennessee (outside the National Festival held each October in Jonesborough), is in its 18th year and, each year, brings nationally recognized storytellers to the area.

Admission to the event is $5, with a family maximum of $15.

For more information, contact Judy Baker at tellone@bellsouth.net or phone 479-7887.

The Cleveland Storytelling Guild meets monthly, on the second Tuesday of the month, in the Community Room of the Cleveland Bradley County Public Library.

Stories begin at 7 p.m. The public is invited to come hear some great stories and to see what storytelling is all about.
