The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Skinner ad Karen Cook, all of Nashville. She is the granddaughter of James Buford and Betty Buford, both of Franklin, and Commander Hugh Cook and Wynette Cook, both of Memphis.
The bridegroom is the son of Donald and Doris Stewart of Athens. He is the grandson of Ruby Stewart of Etowah and the late Willis Stewart, the late Charlie Wilson and the late Donnie Wilson.
Both are graduates of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The bridegroom is a partner in the dental offices of Drs. DeAmond and Stewart.
The wedding was officiated by Michael Coleman, pastor of New Zion Baptist Church. Nuptial music was provided by Tim Jones.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. Her maid of honor was her sister, Alaina Skinner of Nashville. Bridesmaids were Alison Nevels of Memphis, Catherine Carpenter of Ripley, the bridegroom’s sister Annie Stewart of Athens, bride’s sisters Shannon Skinner and Micah Skinner, both of Nashville, Caitlin Peterson of Springfield, Ill., and Laura Wood of Cookeville. Blair Reynolds of Franklin was also in the wedding party.
The bridegroom’s brother, Wesley Stewart of Athens, served him as best man. Groomsmen were Cody McConkey of Etowah, Nick Watts of Athens, Matthew Stone of Cookeville, Jeff Mathews of Kingsport and Ashwani Sharma of India.
The reception was given by the parents of the bride at Black Fox Farms.
Hope Newberry and Abby Newberry kept the bride’s book.
After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Dr. and Mrs. Skinner are at home in Athens.
