Stanley P. Lewis, 86, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013.
He was born in Chickamauga, Ga., a son of the late John and Ethel Lewis.
He worked as a driver and salesman for Tarver Distributing Company since their opening in 1962. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and taking care of his 1930 model A Ford.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Ruth Lewis; two sisters, Virginia Vincent and Gertrude Bennett; and one brother Albert Lewis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Connie Painter and husband, Dickie, and Kaye Allen and husband, Sam Houston Allen; one son, Kenny Lewis; two sisters, Jeri Green and Pat Helton (Bob); one brother, Ted Lewis; three grandchildren: Corey Painter (Stephanie), Linley Brooke Lewis and Jayce Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Eli Painter and Easton Painter; and special friends, the Tarver family and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 5 p.m. at West Cleveland Baptist Church, 1959 Westland Drive S.W., Cleveland TN, with the Revs. Kenny Isbill and Matt Ward officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 2 until the 5 p.m. service time.
The private interment and committal service will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later time.
