Smartt has served the Westwood family as interim pastor since February of 2010.
His ministry first began at Westwood 16 years ago, while pursuing his pastoral ministry degree at Lee University, serving as minister to college and career and as our interim minister to students.
Since that time, he has served churches in Georgia, Kentucky and Florida through pastoral and staff ministry, as well as in church planting.
He holds a master of divinity degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been accepted to their doctor of ministry program beginning this fall.
Smartt and his wife, Cheryl, have one daughter, three sons and three daughters-in-law.
“We are grateful that God has allowed Westwood to serve Cleveland/Bradley County for the past 53 years. We invite you to join us as we look forward to the journey God has for us in the years to come,” a church representative said.
Westwood Baptist Church is located at 4001 Georgetown Road.
