Chattanooga — The ladies of the Gamma Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. in partnership with Hyksos Temple Prince Hall Shriners and Booker T. Washington State Park will present their annual Youth Symposium — “Partners for Progress, Working Together to Build Bridges for Youth.”

The event will focus on the importance of partnerships in the community coming together to support our youth. Both male and female youth are invited.

This community service event will be held on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Booker T. Washington State Park.

The symposium will feature Reggie Parker with TeamTigerFit and Lorean Mays, former Miss Tennessee, as special guests.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes to fully participate in the youth symposium which will include some physical activity, a panel discussion, and interactive workshops.

A free “healthy” lunch will be served.

Chapters nationwide will host the symposiums on March 8, as a unified effort to support youth.

“We are proud to sponsor this annual youth initiative. The goal this year will be to bring together a ‘village of support’ for young people. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority knows that the youth are our future; we must prepare them so that they can lead the way,” said Bonita M. Herring, 23rd international president of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.
