Tara Ward of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Byron Sheehan of Snellville, Ga., were united in marriage in an afternoon ceremony on June 30, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Atlanta, where they are both members.

The bride is the daughter of William Ward of Loganville, Ga., and the late Dorothy Ward. She is the granddaughter of the late Harvey and Amantha Rogers and the late John and Olive Zegalia. She is the sister of John Ward of Loganville, Risa Cox of McDonough, Ga., and Sherree Wren of Alpharetta, Ga.

The bridegroom is the son of Dan and Faye Sheehan of Cleveland. He is the grandson of the late Otis and Artie Griffith and the late Olive Sheehan. He is the brother of Eric Sheehan of Senoia, Ga., and Kim Hooper of Reliance.

The wedding was officiated by Pastor Paul Diamond of First Baptist Church of Atlanta. Nuptial music was presented by Bo Sheehan.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Carol Karren of Las Vegas as matron of honor.

Richard Richter of Knoxville served the bridegroom as best man.

The reception was hosted by the bridal couple at the church. Lisa Ledbetter, Trina White, Joyce Smosny, Wendy Ferguson and Vicky Stovall assisted and served.

The newlywed couple will live in Lawrenceville.

Mrs. Sheehan is a graduate of Shorter University of Rome, Ga., and is employed by Gwinnett County (Ga.) Public Schools.

Mr. Sheehan is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and is employed by the Alliance Group.
