Cleveland Police detectives and the FBI continue an investigation into a bank robbery which occurred this week, where the robber reportedly wore an unusual outfit.
Officials are looking into the possibility he is the same person who may have robbed a Dalton, Ga., bank.
The robber entered the FSG Bank, located at 301 Keith Street in the Village Green, produced a note and made verbal demands for money.
Police and Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the bank and surrounding area just after bank officials reported the robbery at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The robber was wearing a black wig with gold highlights, a cap with a snake skin pattern, ladies sunglasses, pink pajama pants, a heavy coat (possibly purple) and white sneakers.
Lt. Mark Gibson of CPD’s Criminal Investigations Division said the man made both a verbal demand and presented a note to the teller. Police could not confirm at the time if a weapon was produced during the robbery.
Officer Matt Brinkman described the robber as being a black male, approximately 6-feet 2-inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a cap with a snakeskin pattern, large jacket (purplish in color), pink pajama pants and white tennis shoes.
Brinkman said the robber left the building and fled with an undetermined amount of money.
Gibson confirmed bank video footage of the incident was retrieved and placed into evidence.
According to Gibson, authorities in Dalton reported a robbery at Regions Bank Dec. 3.
The suspect reportedly wore a wig, sunglasses and a colorful outfit to commit the robbery, area media reports noted.
