He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Bell Jenkins Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Talley Jones; daughter, Rosemary Hayden of Knoxville; son, Sidney Jones of Palm City, Fla.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Josie Mae Robinson; and several nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Millsaps officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
