Rosella Gates Coleman went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011.
She was born March 14, 1923, in Ellijay, Ga., to the late Homer and Mattie Gates, but spent most of her life in Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, C.L. Coleman; seven brothers; one sister; one son-in-law, Ronald McJunkin; two grandsons: Randall McJunkin and Tyler Meyers; one granddaughter, Beverly Satterfield; and one granddaughter-in-law, Candy Satterfield.
Survivors include three daughters: Elizabeth Satterfield (Doug), Bonnie Morgan and Faye Strait (Paul); three sons: Johnny (Mildred), Freddie (Naomi) and Bobby (Denise); one brother, Donald Gates and wife, Edna; one sister-in-law, Edith Gates; one special nephew, Dana Burgner, who visited every Friday night to share cake and coffee with her; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Grissom Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Weaver and Ray Cheatham officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
