Reba Varnell, 85, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at a health care home in Buford, Ga.

She was the daughter of the late Manson and Jeanette Rogers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Rogers; sister, Ruby Rogers; and great-granddaughter, Leah McCammon.

She was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church.

She worked many years with Peerless and Burlington Woolens and very much enjoyed treasure hunting at flea markets and yard sales. She made sure that she never met a stranger. She cherished her friends and spending time with those friends and family.

Survivors include sons: John Varnell and wife, Carol, of John’s Creek, Ga., and Lonnie Varnell and wife, Linda, of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Shelly McCammon and husband, David, of Buford, Carrie McCall and husband, Adam, of Buford, Matt Varnell and wife, Leah, of Huntersville, N.C., Kyle Varnell of John’s Creek, Lauren Zagurski and husband, Mike, of Phoenix, and Lee Varnell and fiancé, Sarah, of Cleveland; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. until the remembrance of life service scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush funeral Home, with the North Cleveland Baptist Church pastor, the Rev. Jay McCluskey, officiating.

No graveside service is planned.
