A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Mary Ada Wilson Hysell. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Hysell; and brothers: Curtis, Ronnie and Kenny Hysell.
He was a member of the Clear Springs Baptist Church. He was a former self-employed plumbing and electrical contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Jones Hysell, of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Paula Rae and Gary Myers of Niota; one son, Greg Hysell of Cleveland; two granddaughters: Chanler Hysell and Kelsey Marie Myers; and one grandson, Brady Myers.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 10, 2012, in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Services of Athens with the Rev. Anthony Cameron officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bradley County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m. today prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Jones, Marc Davis, Nick Periut, Rick Eden, Earl Wright, Kenneth Elkins, Jim Copeland and Larry Hope.
