According to detective Matt Jenkins, the incident occurred March 4 at Walmart South located on Treasury Drive.
Officer Patrick Googer filed the initial offense report.
The woman said a man walked up, grabbed her purse from a shopping cart and ran away.
The victim described the man as being a white male, 25-30 years old and wearing a red jacket with a hood, sweatshirt and jeans. He was also described as being tall with a medium build and a dark beard.
Investigators have learned the suspect possibly left the parking lot driving a dark gray Chrysler.
During the investigation, Googer learned the victim’s purse had been found and reported to Bradley County Sheriff’s Office officials.
Cash and other items were reported missing from the purse, according to the report.

- Firearms were taken during a burglary at a Trewhitt Road residence Wednesday, according to a report filed by deputy Daniel Watson of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.
Russell Grun’s son said he heard a noise in his father’s room.
When he went to investigate, he noticed a safe which had been kept in the room was missing.
He then said he noticed a white pickup truck leaving the driveway at the home.
Grun was reportedly at work at the time of the reported aggravated burglary.
Watson was able to speak with Grun who said there was a Beretta 12-guage shotgun, a Savage single shot 16-gauge shotgun, cash, DVDs and personal items which had been stored inside the safe.
According to the report, since family members were home during the theft, the doors to the home were not locked.
The loss was estimated at over $6,000.
Investigation has been handed over to BCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division.
