The Prospectors Family and Community Education meeting was held Tuesday at the R&M Yarn Store in Georgetown. President Phyllis Narus, who served as host, called the meeting to order.

Vice President Linda Simpler read passages regarding “patience” as the devotion and led everyone in the Pledge to the American Flag.

Roll call indicated 14 in attendance. Year-end treasurer reports were distributed by Ann Gray, treasurer. Old business as well as new business was discussed. Yearbooks for 2013 were distributed; annual dues were collected; and 2012 Club Summary pamphlets were distributed. Brenda Derryberry will serve as the club’s new treasurer.

Two new members were welcomed to the club: Anita McLain and Candee Saint.

The Valentine and Awards Banquet will be Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. at the Ag Building. Everyone is requested to RSVP and to bring a covered dish. Several members will donate items for the benefit auction as well as provide beverages for the event.

After enjoying soups and dessert, members learned a new technique for making decorative pillow cases. Cathy Shreve will host the February meeting where members will make a decorative bangle bracelet.

Others members in attendance were Patti Bradshaw, Cindy Park, Ginette Somos, Annette Sullivan, Cyndi Tinsley and guests Debbie Butt and Norma Kendrick.
