Cleveland’s Fraternal Order of Police Scenic Lodge 8 continues to raise money for the very popular “Shop with a Cop” Back to School and Christmas fund.

Sgt. Scott Bronze said a current fundraising effort is under way and phone calls to area residents are being made.

“The current fundraiser will be used locally to help underprivileged children in purchasing school supplies for the 2013-14 school year,” Bronze said.

Members of the lodge will select local children in July for the opportunity to “Shop with a Cop.”

Each year, members of the lodge meet with the children and provide gifts during the Christmas season. They have expanded their effort to include the Back to School program as well.

Local businesses have already provided lunch and monetary contributions towards the event. All proceeds will stay in the Cleveland/Bradley County area, according to Bronze, who is president of the local No. 8.

Scenic Lodge 8 is composed of members from both the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and the Cleveland Police Department.

Bronze is a member of the Cleveland Police Department.
