Performing Arts dancers receive Top 10 awards

Dancers took classes from Master Teachers Noelle Marsh in jazz from “So You Think You Can Dance,” Chaz Buzan in Contemporary (Mia Michael’s assistant) and Comfort Fedoke in Hip Hop from “So You Think You Can Dance” at the workshop at Dance Masters of America Convention and competition in Birmingham, Ala.. Dancers from Cleveland and Chattanooga Dance and Performing Arts Center recently competed and took workshop classes at the Dance Masters of America Chapter No. 33 Fall Convention and Non-Title Solo Competition in Birmingham, Ala.

Soloists Brittany Zachman, Shelbee Jordan, Ashley Harper, Emily Derrick and Lexi Valliere competed against 150 soloists from Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.

Lexi Valliere competed her jazz solo “Americano” and was awarded as a Top 10 Finalist.

Emily Derrick competed her Contemporary Solo “Asleep” and was awarded as a Top 10 Finalist.

CDPAC kicked off their 2013-2014 Performance Season at The Cleveland Apple Festival and will perform locally at The Cleveland Halloween Block Party, Arrival of Santa at Bradley Square Mall, The Cleveland Christmas Parade and the Festival of Lights Chattanooga lighted parade this holiday season.

CDPAC’s Winter Gala will be held Dec. 22 at Girls Preparatory School Performing Arts Complex in Chattanooga. Tickets go on sale Dec. 1.
