The 15th Annual Kirk Awards Ceremony (Excellence in Performing Arts Awards) was held May 15, at Mountain View Inn.

Terrie Kirkpatrick, head of the Drama Department at Ocoee Middle School throws this red carpet gala each year to honor all the thespians at OMS.

Awards were given to: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor in a Minor Role, Best Actress in a Minor Role, Best Extra, and The Director's awards.

The Director's Award goes to Thespians who exemplify excellence in the art of acting through their personal character and dedication to the craft.

This year recipients were as follows:

• Best Actor in a Leading Role: Evan Wooden for his role as Henry in Deadly Earnest

• Best Actress in a Leading Role: Rachel Keenan for her role as Millie in Wild Pink

• Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Brandon Akiona for role as Bumpus in Deadly Earnest

• Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Alex Squires for her role as Lidia in Wild Pink

• Best Actor in a Minor Role: Colby Brandt for his role as Sleepy in Deadly Earnest

• Best Actress in a Minor role: Skylar Kelley for her role as Aunt Stella in Deadly Earnest

• Best Extra: Linsy Lawson for her role as "Goth Orphan" in Wild Pink

The Director's Awards went to Weslee Clark and Sarah Beavers.
