Lyle A. Bell, 80, of Cleveland, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, June 20, 2013, after a courageous battle with heart disease.
He was born in Faithorn, Mich., to the late Laurence and Geraldine Bell, but had lived in Escanaba, Mich., before moving to the Cleveland area in 1982.
He was an Army veteran having served during the Korean conflict, and was the owner and operator of the Hiawatha Motel for many years.
He enjoyed building homes and restoring cars and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Olson Bell; and several siblings.
Survivors include his children: Steven G. and Linda Bell of Eaton Rapids, Mich., Janis L. and Allan Dawson of McDonald, Mark Bell of Chickamauga, Ga., and Camille A. and Roy Sherlin of Cleveland; sister, Marion Tomich of Carlton, Mich.; brothers: Thomas Bell of Escanaba, Mich., and Walter Bell of Appleton, Wis.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2200 Ludington St., Escanaba, Mich (906-786-4232).
The family will receive friends Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
