Thanksgiving is upon us, which means the official start to the Christmas season begins Friday. Planning ahead for the holiday season helps to reduce the stress of this busy time of year.

The library is the place to go for books on Christmas ideas. There is a large selection of books for menu planning, gifts, decorating, crafts and entertainment. Not only does the library have a great collection of books and magazines, but the Book Nook by Friends of the Library Association has a special display of used books, magazines and movies for sale at great low prices.

A great gift idea for the person who has everything is to purchase an engraved brick from the Friends of the Library Association. Phase II bricks will be ordered the first of the year so now is the time to place your order. It is a special way to remember someone who loves to read. The bricks will be put in the garden area outside of the Bradley Cleveland Community Room. The bricks will be engraved with three lines of your choosing to honor someone, commemorate an event or highlight a group, business or school. Brick forms are available online at our website or at the library. Each brick costs $100. All monies raised from this campaign will go to purchase books and furniture for the Children’s library.

The Children’s Library will be having a Scholastic Book Fair the beginning of December for two weeks. All books will be half-priced. Books make a great gift for children and the proceeds for this book sale go to purchase additional books for the Children’s library.

The library will be closed Nov. 25 and 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
