Library Corner: Library now offers birthday parties for children, 3 to 12

The library is now offering themed birthday parties for children, ages 3 to 12. Each party will take place in the lovely Community Room. You choose the theme, package, reserve the date and the library staff will do the rest. The parties are scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays. An Estate Planning program will be held in the Community Room Monday at 6:30 p.m. Kelly Browand from Edward Jones will discuss topics on planning, how to reduce taxes on your estate and how insurance can help protect the family. To register call the Non-Fiction Desk at 472-2163.

Computer classes for October are: Basic Computers (Windows 7) — Oct. 2 and 3 from 3 to 5 p.m., (Windows 8) — Oct. 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to noon; Intermediate Computers — Oct. 23 and 24 from 3 to 5 p.m.; Basic Email — Oct. 9 and 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.; Excel — Oct. 28, 29, 30 and 31 from 3 to 5 p.m.; Basic Internet — Oct. 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to noon; Powerpoint — Oct. 21 and 22 from 10 a.m. to noon; Word — Oct. 16 and 17 from 3 to 5 p.m.

There will be Ebook Workshops from noon to 2 p.m. each Friday for the following devices: Amazon Kindle, Oct. 4 and Nov. 1; Barnes & Noble Nook, Oct. 11; Apple devices, Oct. 18; and Android Devices, Oct. 25. These workshops are designed to help you use your device with the free library R.E.A.D.S. service.

All classes and workshops are free to those with a valid library card. To reserve a space call our Non-Fiction Desk at 472-2163. All classes and workshop are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The library is closed today for scheduled maintenance and will reopen during normal hours Monday.
