Lawrence David “Larry” Lakins Jr., passed away in a Chattanooga hospital due to cardiac arrest on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013.
He was born on June 7, 1970, to Lawrence and Blanche “Pelley” Lakins.
He was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge, as well as a Shriner. He was also a past secretary and member of Cleveland Elk’s Lodge No. 1944.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anna Mae and Woodrow Lakins and Mary and James Pelley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother and father, Lawrence and Blanche “Pelley” Lakins; one sister, Tami Lakins. On his mother’s side, he is survived by aunts: Margaret Pelley and Marie Caravan; uncles: Dr. Dick Pelley (Sylvia), Max Pelley (Wanda), Walter Pelley (Phyllis), and Gary Pelley (Beverly). On his father’s side, he is survived by an uncle, Wayne Lakins; and cousin, Christie Eckstien (Kenny). In addition to these, he is also survived by numerous cousins.
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Calhoun United Methodist Church Cemetery in Calhoun.
The family will receive friends in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home, 2415 Georgetown Road, Saturday from noon until time to leave for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donation be made to the Shriners Hospital in Lexington, Ky., in Larry’s memory.
