Lacy Laman was honored as the 2012 recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award at Tennessee Christian Preparatory School during the Upper School commencement activities on May 12.

According to TCPS President, Bill Balzano, “Lacy Marie Laman personifies the words outstanding professional educator in all that she does. She models an astute, almost innate understanding of what is involved in being a ‘Christian’ educator. This involves understanding the merger of a Christian world view with a sharp awareness of the foundations of outstanding educational practice.”

Kathi Douglas, Lower School principal said, “To have an outstanding educator, such as Lacy Laman, is a rare find. Mrs. Laman pushes her students to always strive to be the best but remembers the limitation and constraints of their age by always referring to them as her ‘little ones’. She balances the student’s psycho-social needs with academic excellence.”

Laman is committed to Tennessee Christian Preparatory School and to modeling academic excellence.

Her colleagues provide high praise for Lacy and as one of our school’s finest educators.

In summary, Lacy has dedicated herself to enriching students’ lives. She actualizes the words, Tennessee Christian Preparatory School provides a quality college preparatory education, from a Christian world view, and equips students for tomorrow’s challenges by educating the mind and the soul. Those words are the TCPS Mission Statement.

Lacy, has State Certification (K-8) and has taught at Tennessee Christian Preparatory School for two years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Lee University.
