Lake Triplett, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday night June 7, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Benton, to the late J.W. and Lela Allen Triplett. He has made Cleveland his home for the past 70-plus years.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He loved his church and ministered there in many ways such as witnessing, evangelism, music leader, and serving as a deacon for many years.

He was retired from Hardwick Stove Co. with over 40 years of service. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He used his woodworking talents to make furniture for his two granddaughters, who he adored.

He left his mark on his family and community in the greatest way by being a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.

He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Anna Trentham Triplett; son-in-law, Garland Murray; granddaughter, Breann Murray Tolley; four sisters: Edna Cole, Essie Aubery, Dot Giles, and Stella Ledford; and two brothers: Hershel Triplett and Harrie Triplett.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Sherry Murray and Joan Smith and husband, Manuel; one brother, Hugh Triplett; grandchildren: Hannah Spresser and husband, Jeremy, and Butch Tolley; three great-grandchildren: Malachi Bradley Spresser, Genevieve Anna Alene Tolley, and Garland Lake Tolley; and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held Monday night, June 11, 2012, at 7 at Westwood Baptist Church, located at 4001 Georgetown Road N.W., Cleveland TN 37311 with the Rev. Jimmy Caywood officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Interment will take place on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 4 p.m. at the J.W. Triplett Cemetery with the nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Westwood Baptist Church in his memory.
