The Walker Valley Lady Mustangs had a busy Wednesday evening as they took on both GPS and East Ridge in back-to-back volleyball action.
The Lady Mustangs lost one game to GPS, 25-18, but were able to come back and win the next two games 25-15 and 25-21.
Next, Walker Valley won two consecutive games against East Ridge, 25-15 and 25-18.
In the set with GPS, Abby Campbell had one ace, 22 assists, one kill, 16 digs and one reception.
Alex Rominger had one ace, one assist, one kill, 16 digs and 15 receptions, while Madison Pruett had four aces, one block, 11 kills, nine digs and seven receptions.
Ashlyn Flock had four aces, 13 assists, two kills and 11 digs and Rachel Lawhorn had one ace, one assist, one block, 16 kills and three digs.
Nikki Prugh had one ace, four kills, six digs and seven receptions.
The Lady Mustangs’ JV team also defeated GPS, 25-14 and 25-22.
Alexan Crittenden had nine assists, six kills and three digs, while Sara Wilson had one block, two kills, four digs and five receptions.
Katelin Scoggins had one kill, four digs and six receptions and Carly Frost had two aces, one kill, three digs and a reception.
This past weekend, Walker Valley was participated in the Tennessee Tandem.
After dropping their first game to Karnes 25-21, the Lady Mustangs came back for the win, 27-25 and 25-14.
They defeated Stewart’s Creek 25-5, 25-7 and 25-17.
Hardin Valley put up a fight with Walker Valley, as the girls in Navy-and-Gold won the first game 25-23, but then lost 25-17 and 15-7.
The Lady Mustangs came back to defeat Brentwood Academy two games to one, 25-17, 19-25 and 15-6.
In tournament play Walker Valley topped GPS 25-15 and 25-19, only to lose to Baylor in straight sets, 25-12 and 25-19.
Currently, the Lady Mustangs varsity team is 17-13 overall, and 3-4 in District 5-AAA play. The JV team is 9-0.
Cleveland will host Walker Valley in district competition this evening with varsity action beginning at 6:15.
