He is survived by his wife, Betty Duckworth Hammons; children: Susan Jolley, Joe Hammons, Benson Hammons, Calvin Hammons and Burch Hammons; stepchildren: Carolyn Flanigan, Jeannie Cuervo and Gene Bagby; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Abie Hammons of Benton.
A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Campground Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Higgins Funeral Home.
