Kenneth “Ken” E. Walker, 68, a resident of McDonald, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was the son of the late Kathryn Francis Goddard Walker and James Perry Walker. His brother, Jim Walker, also preceded him in death.
He was a truck driver for 41 years and he retired from Service Trucking. He served in the U.S. Army for 10 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, riding four wheelers and Baja Buggies.
He was a member of the Trinity Chapel Church.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Virginia L. Walker of McDonald; his daughter, Cindy Allmen of Cleveland; his stepchildren: Rickie Brown of McDonald, Karen Bragg of Royston, Ga., Randy Brown of Murfreesboro, Sam Brown of Georgetown, and Cindy Gunnells of Bowmen, Ga., his seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother, Benny Walker of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Ronnie Bishop officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rickie Brown, Sam Brown, Samuel Brown, Joseph Cox, Scottie Brown, Randy Brown, Roy Kirkpatrick and Robert Cox serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be given.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
