KMA water polo of Cleveland finished 10th at the Dynamo Powerbar Cup in Atlanta over the weekend. The result was a two-place improvement over last year’s 12th-place finish. The KMA squad dropped its first two contests 13-4 against defending Georgia state champion St. Pius and 13-5 against the Spartans. KMA rebounded in the evening to defeat the Wildcats 8-6. On Sunday, KMA played the Wildcats again in place of Dalton and won 11-9. The final game was a ninth-place game against North Springs. The KMA team stepped up its defense and the game was tied 9-9 at the end of regulation. North Springs won in sudden-death overtime with a man-up goal at the beginning of the overtime period. The KMA squad included Matthew Herd with a five goal per game average, Chandler Nichols, Abigail Jones and Abby Sanders.
