Keep America Beautiful of Cleveland and Bradley County’s board of directors met Wednesday to discuss recent awards and upcoming events.

Shari Horton of the neighborhood committee reported that KAB had presented its Beautification Award to the Super Saver on the corner of Paul Huff Parkway and Georgetown Road.

KAB President Jim Davis reported on giving the White Glove award to Johnston Coca-Cola & Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. After presenting the award Davis toured the plant.

Fundraiser Committee members reminded the group about the Annual Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Each member of the board is being asked to sell 12 tickets to the event, which will be held at Applebee’s restaurant. Other upcoming events discussed included the River Rescue “Greenway Cleanup” project scheduled for Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Although no financial information was available on the success of the recent flea market, the board discussed how many people were there and successful food sales.

Diane Neely said Joanne Maskew had wanted to see how selling chili would work at the event. It was a success and they sold all of it.

After member established that a quorum was present, the meeting was called to order by the organization’s president.
