Joyce Bennett, 79, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 9, 2013, in a local hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Edith Swafford Davenport. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Louise Davenport.

She was a former employee with Brown Stove, working as the personal assistant to Kenneth Brown Sr. After her employment at Brown Stove, she went to work for Junior Achievement in Cleveland until her retirement in 1982. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School.

Survivors include her sons: Jeff Bennett and his wife, Stephanie, of Cleveland, and Tony Bennett and his wife, Lisa, of Chattanooga; and grandchildren: Zoe Bennett, Krista Riad, Bryce Bennett, Elisabeth Bennett and Samantha Bennett.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at the North Ocoee Street Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Allan Lovelace officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 5 until 8 at the North Chapel.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Waterville Baptist Church Building Fund 4555 Dalton Pike, Cleveland TN., 37323.
