Cleveland Police arrested one person Wednesday evening after a shooting at a Beech Circle residence.

The alleged shooter and victim have both been identified, according to Evie West, information officer for the Cleveland Police Department.

Gwendolyn Johnson, 26, was charged early in the investigation with two counts of attempted second-degree homicide.

West said police responded to the Beech Circle residence just after 8:30 p.m., referencing gunshots.

She identified the victim as Keith Hill, 33.

West noted Hill had been shot in the leg.

According to preliminary information, “Officers responded to shots fired and witnesses stated two vehicles had left the scene. Patrol officers later found both vehicles and a black male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg,” West said Wednesday evening.

This morning, West was able to confirm the identity of the suspect and the victim.

According to investigators, another person was present at the scene of the shooting, resulting in the two charges of attempted second-degree murder.

Johnson is being held at the Bradley County Jail under no bond.

Investigation is continuing.
