Stice learned to play the piano at age 8 and was the accompaniment for his father’s gospel quartet at age 15.
In 1985, he began playing for the Nelons. In 1990, he help found and managed Perfecy Heart.
In 1999, he became a full-time pianist for a gospel show at the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge.
From Dollywood, he took a position with the Louise Mandrell Theatre. While at the theater, he, Eric Bennett and David Sutton started the Triumphant Quartet.
He currently plays for, produces and arranges for Triumphant, as well as doing some solo engagements.
Stice has been nominated for the Singing News magazines fan awards. He won the Horizon Award for Favorite Newcomer in 1988. He has been nominated as a top five musician for 25 years. In 1992, as a member of Perfect Heart, he won the Favorite Instrumentalist Award.
In 2007, he was presented the Southern Gospel Music Guild Award for Stage Musician of the Year.
In 2008 he received The Singing News Fan Award for Southern Gospel Musician Of The Year. In 2009 he received The Favorite Musician Award at The Southern Gospel Music Fanfare in Pigeon Forge, as well as The Singing News Fan Award for The Southern Gospel Musician of The Year.
