The Cleveland Urban Area Transit System will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and will reopen on Tuesday.

The Bradley County Master Gardener meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. at the UT Extension office, 95 Church St. The speaker will be Pete Nelson, a landscape architect for the Ooltewah Nursery, and he will be speaking on irrigation.

The Meigs County Republican Party will meet Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. at the courthouse in Decatur. Anyone planning to run for office as a Republican needs to attend and announce their plans to seek office.

The Bradley County Democratic Party will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the Bradley County Courthouse commission room. The guest speaker will be Avery Johnson, vice mayor of the City of Cleveland. Bradley County Democratic Women will meet at 6 p.m. on the same day and at the same location. Come meet the Democratic candidates for 2014.
