According to Bob Gault, media relations coordinator for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, three people were arrested and charged after deputies tracked an iPhone which had been taken from a vehicle parked at a church.
Travis Grissom, 20, Jack D. Murphy III, 20, and Sebastian Howard, 18, were charged with theft over $1,000, burglary of an auto, and theft under $500.
“David Williams reported his 2002 Ford Explorer Sport stolen to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office after discovering it was missing from Elkmont Baptist Church on Old Freewill Road. Williams had left his key and an iPhone in the vehicle,” according to Gault.
Williams was reportedly attending services at the church when the burglary occurred.
Deputies traced the phone and located the missing vehicle.
Gault said the phone and vehicle were recovered and returned to Williams.
Gault added another vehicle parked at the church had also been burglarized and a small amount of cash had been taken.
Bond for the three suspects was set at $12,000 each.
All three remain in custody at the Bradley County Jail.
Grissom, Murphy and Howard are expected to appear in General Sessions Court Jan. 8.
