She was born on Dec. 28, 1932, to the late Howard and Lear Avans.
She was a seamstress for many years, working in several local chair factories and many different industries. She loved to garden, fish, and enjoyed the river. She was a member of Wings of Love House of Prayer and was a very strong woman of faith.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by two children: son, Kenneth Harveston; and daughter, Ladonna Harveston; and one daughter-in-law, Sharon Randolph.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Earl E. Randolph, Brenda Moore, Michael Randolph (Val); two stepchildren: Danny Murphy of Polk County and Nancy Campbell of Meigs County; brother, Jimmy Avans; sisters: Bermalou Avans and Wanda Avans; she also leaves behind very special cousins: Jay Avans, Agnes Rector, Irene Ledford, and Eloise Hood, all of Marion County; four grandchildren: Kenneth, Jamey, Christa, and David; four great-grandchildren: Kalie, Addison, Xander, and Amelia; and several other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, 2415 Georgetown Road, N.W., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a service following.
Interment will be at Four Mile Cemetery following the service. Pastor Lee Truelove will be officiating.
