According to an arrest report filed by officer Travis Graig of the Cleveland Police Department, he responded to a residence where the caretaker said the homeowner was out of town. The caretaker for the victim’s pets had alerted police that when she went to the home, she found the door had been forced open.
Sgt. Andy Ratcliff and officer J.R. Burnette responded with Graig and found Teddy Shannon Ball, 48, “standing in a bathtub full of water and holding a cooking pot over his head,” according to the officer’s affidavit.
Ball allegedly told the officers that “Nick, the chopper pilot from the hospital told him he could stay there because it was his sister’s house,” the report stated.
Ball was taken into custody and transported to the Bradley County Jail where he was booked on the charge.
Further investigation alleged Ball was wanted in Georgia for violation of probation, traffic offenses and bail jumping.
The report indicated the state of Georgia would not extradite Ball regarding the Georgia charges.
n Authorities continue to investigate construction vehicle vandalisms and thefts which have been reported over the past few days.
A report filed Thursday by deputy Paul Singleton noted Ralph Saffles said his dump truck was stolen from a construction site on Spring Place Road.
A trailer was also taken during the theft.
According to his report, Singleton said Saffles provided license tag and vehicle identification numbers so the vehicle could be entered into the National Crime Information Center computer.
The dump truck was described as being a 1991 red International 4900 series with white wheels. The trailer is a 1996 Eager Beaver 20-ton model which is painted yellow.
The trailer was valued at $6,500 and the truck was valued at $15,000.
Earlier this week, officials reported the theft of a water truck from a construction site on Dalton Pike and damage to two cranes at the site of a bridge replacement construction zone.
Investigation is continuing in all cases.
