President Crystal Rymer arrived early to attend the TFGC board meeting. She was joined by Ann McCoin, Mary McNulty, Mary Margaret Stamper and Mary Ruth Younger.
Along with garden club members from across the state, they enjoyed presentations on Blue Bird Monitoring, Gourds from Seeds to Design, and Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation by Walden’s Puddle.
They participated in several crafting workshops, with a focus on using recycled materials. The best part was seeing the natural beauty of the area, either by hiking or just rocking on the porch.
The TFGC Endowment Fund Grants were announced. The Ocoee Garden Club was awarded a grant to assist them with the native plant bed plantings for the sensory garden at Cleveland High School.
The TFGC District III Fall Meeting and Luncheon was held at the Mountain City Club. June Ford, Ann McCoin, Nora McNeill, Patricia Pierce, Crystal Rymer and Polly Whitsitt attended.
Ocoee Garden Club won the attendance prize, which is based on percentage of club members attending.
After the business meeting and lunch, Christine Bock of the Tennessee Aquarium presented a program on “Bringing the Outside In.”
