Dennis Epperson was recently named 2013 Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Tennessee.

While attending the annual fall meeting of HBAT, Epperson was presented the prestigious Builder of the Year award.

He was recognized for his many years of service to the building community by his peers. Epperson has been a home builder in Bradley County for 35 years and was licensed in 1988. He and his wife, Rhee, have two children, Brooke, Clint and daughter-in-law, Suzanna Epperson.

Epperson has participated locally with the Ocoee Region Builders Association for many years.

He has served in several areas including president, board of directors and several other committees.

He has also participated at the state level and is currently the Southeast Area vice president for HBAT.

Epperson has been instrumental in raising funds for HIPAC at the local level to support the industry and helped start the scholarship fund to award money to local students.

Epperson was recognized for his involvement in all levels of building. He has developed subdivisions and built many homes in the area.

He currently serves on the Board of Adjustment and Appeals for Bradley County and the city of Cleveland. He also serves on the Mechanical Board for the city of Cleveland and the Shade Tree Board.

Epperson has been named local Builder of the Year twice by ORBA for his contributions to building industry and the association. He has always encouraged local builders and building vendors to become members of ORBA and participate with the organization.

Epperson states, “It is important to stay informed about local codes and new restrictions placed on land development. Everyone involved in our industry has the obligation to keep abreast of things happening within our line of work. ORBA provides guidance to make this happen. We also encourage participation in giving back to the community.”

Epperson said, “I was honored to be recognized as the 2013 state Builder of the Year. My subcontractors, suppliers, and business partners helped make this happen. I look forward to having many more years of building and delivering brand new homes to satisfied customers.”
