Denise Annette McManus, 49, of Chattanooga, formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at a Chattanooga hospital.

She was involved in children’s ministries for many churches in the Church of God. She was a professional clown and professional puppeteer, which she used in her ministry. She was a member at North Cleveland Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Edward Hale.

She is survived by her mother and her husband, Wanda and Howard Clayton of Chattanooga; brothers: Harlan Hale of Chattanooga, Dan Clayton of Ft. Pierce, Fla. and Tim Clayton of Chattanooga; and nieces and nephews: Aaron Hale, Matthew Hale, Dene Clayton and Lisa Clayton.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God with the Rev. Mitch Maloney and wife, Sharon, the Revs. Cecil Guiles and Cy Harris officiating.

Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday in LynnHurst Cemetery in Knoxville.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Children’s Ministry at North Cleveland Church of God, 335 11th St. N.E., Cleveland, TN 37311.
