He was the son of the late Karen Ruble Thurman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Brown; and grandparents: James M. and Kathryn Ruble and Luther and Emma Brown.
He was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. He was considered one of the best car painters in Cleveland for many years at Ruble Body & Paint Shop, as well as other body shops in Cleveland.
Survivors include his daughter, Cassie Smith of Cleveland; father, Robert Brown of Cleveland; sisters: Tara Howe of Baltimore, Sherry Smith of Florence, Ky., and Kelly Hunt of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, Ga., with James Ruble, Jeff Armstrong, Michael Armstrong, Andy Craig, Justin Smith, and Joshua Welstead-Lochert serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, prior to the services.
