A custom design mailbox and enclosure valued at $1,500 was damaged by vandals late last week.

According to a report filed early Thursday morning by deputy Sam Long of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, he spoke with Todd Fiedler and Krystal Taylor who said someone had completely destroyed the property.

The custom enclosure was constructed of concrete and stacked stone.

A neighbor on Pleasant Grove Place reported she heard a loud noise at 5:30 a.m. the morning of the incident. A vehicle possibly did the damage.

Investigation was turned over to the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division.

n An iPod was reportedly taken from a car while the owner was at work.

Cleveland Police officer Mike Harris filed a report for the victim.

According to his report, the man said he had parked his vehicle in the parking lot of Check into Cash and went to work.

During the day, someone entered his car which was not secured at the time, and took the iPod Classic.

It was valued at $200.

Investigation was turned over to the Cleveland Police Department Criminal Investigations Division for followup.

n Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Drivers License Roadside Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County this week.

The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.

According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the drivers license laws of the state.

All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
