Cora Lee Armes Headrick, 89, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.

She was born June 30, 1924. She was of the Baptist faith. She made her home next door to her daughter, Helen Bullen, who devotedly cared for her for the past two years, with the help of her other children.

She had her beloved dog, Lady Bird. The children lovingly built her a small home, which she called her “dollhouse.” She loved to sew, make quilts and paint.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Florence Armes; three husbands: Robert Ooten, Clarence Zumstein and Charles Headrick; two sons: Leroy Ooten and Tony Ooten; brothers: English, Dave, Frank, Howard, Inman, Pat and Elmer Armes; and sisters: Flora, Dora, Lennie and Badie Armes.

She is survived by 10 children: Edward Ooten of Decatur, Jack Ooten of Chattanooga, Ray Zumstein of Chattanooga and Joroy Zumstein (Yogi) of Old Fort, Anna Lou Ooten Mohring of Aransas Pass, Texas, Helen Zumstein Bullen of Wartburg, Lena Zumstein Bunch of Petros, Ida Zumstein of Old Fort, Minnie Headrick Taylor of Lansing and Marsha Headrick Byrge of Wartburg; brother, Pete Armes of Kingston; 28 grandkids; 40 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one on the way.

The funeral was held Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg, with Pastor Herb Judkins and Bro. Donnie Hunter officiating.

Interment was in the Wartburg City Cemetery.
