Confederate cemetery to be rededicated Saturday in Athens

Members of the Sons Of Confederate Veterans, General John C. Vaughn Camp 2089 of Athens, in conjunction with the Athens Boy Scout Troop No. 624 and with the support of the Athens-McMinn County Chamber Of Commerce, are rededicating the family cemetery of Confederate Home Guard General James T. Lane.

The event will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the cemetery on Decatur Pike (Highway 30), in Athens.

Lane was born in Warren County in 1811 and then grew up primarily in McMinn County.
