Cleveland High School seniors and their families are set to take over Benny Monroe Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m. for this year’s graduation ceremony.

Gates are set to open at 5 p.m. for early seating.

Graduating as student body president is Molly McConnell. McConnell is the daughter of Steve and Sherrie McConnell. She served as captain in the CHS Renaissance Show Choir and as a member of both the National Honor Society and International Thespians Society. She plans on attending Cleveland State Community College to continue her education in physical therapy.

Jasmine Martin will graduate as the class representative. She is the daughter of Billy and Tina Massingale. Her high school activities included being the student liaison to the Cleveland City School Board, Beta Club vice president and softball captain. Martin was a Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership graduate and a 4.0 Graduate of Distinction. She plans on studying education at East Tennessee State University to become an English teacher.

Luke Shattuck will be one of two honor group speakers at graduation. He is the son of Clarence and Andrea Shattuck. He was the CHS soccer captain and a delegate for the Tennessee American Legion Boys State. Shattuck was recognized as a Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership graduate and a 4.0 Graduate of Distinction. He will continue his education at the Tennessee Technological University where he will major in mechanical engineering.

Apurvakumar “Andy” Patel will also be recognized at graduation as an honor group speaker. He is the son of Bhikhubhai and Prabhavatiben Patel. In addition to being prom king, Patel was also the Key Club vice president, National Honor Society treasurer and a member of the CHS water polo team. He was recognized as a 4.0 Graduate of Distinction. He plans to attend the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
