He was born in Sumter, S.C. to the late Clarence Deleon Sr. and Bettye Massengill-Donohoo.
He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School. He went on to attend Tennessee State University and graduated from Foley Belsaw Institute for locksmiths. He served in the United States Army and was employed by the Bradley County Sheriff Department as a deputy; he also worked for Highland Construction Company.
He is survived by his wife, Dale Ware Donohoo; his children: Marcus (Holly) Donohoo of Dalton, Ga., Maurice (Mesheika) Donohoo Sr., Eric R. Donohoo and William McClellon, all of Cleveland and Deanda S. Ware of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; his sisters: Valerie (Gary) Dennis of Cleveland and Karen (Roger) Miller of Griffin, Ga.; brothers: Timothy Donohoo and Dwight (Debbie) Donohoo, both of Cleveland; his aunt, Lena Mae Andrews of Winchester; two special nieces: Cheyenne and Chenoa Donohoo; his sisters-in-law: Nancy (Ed) Bayless, Patsy Woods, Theresa (Alphonso) Baltimore, Brenda White, Marjorie Roberson and Ruth Ware; brothers-in-law: Milo (Candee) Ware and O’Neal (Angie) Ware; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The body may be viewed today, Feb. 24 at Patton Funeral Home Chapel, 265 Fair Street S.E. Cleveland from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The family visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. service time at the Church of God Sanctified, 746 1st St N.E. Cleveland. The Rev. Guilford R. Hill will be the pastor and eulogist.
Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN.
