The Cherokee Blossom Quilt Guild is an organization that provides fellowship for those interested in the art of quilting.
The group was formed in spring 1984 and is one of the oldest in Tennessee. All of the members share a passion for the art and seek to preserve the history of quilting. The Cherokee Blossom Quilt Guild is affiliated with the TVQA, the Tennessee Valley Quilter’s Association, a statewide alliance of 32 guilds.
Each year, the Cherokee Blossom Quilt Guild donates around 50 quilts to the Women’s Center at SkyRidge Medical Center for newborn babies. Over the last several years, the organization has presented a quilt to Cleveland’s New Year baby.
All of the members have a passion for serving the Women’s Center and the community of Cleveland. In addition to the organization completing projects for the Women’s Center, they have various community outreach projects as well. “This group consists of the most generous group of women that I have ever met,” said Nancy Guthrie, CBQG member.
If you have a love for quilting and enjoy the company of others, new members are welcome. The group meets every Tuesday evening for business matters, individual projects, and group projects.
