The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera announces public auditions for its CSO Chorus for the 2013-14 season.

Directed by Darrin Hassevoort, the CSO Chorus has been in existence for more than 50 years and is a volunteer organization of community singers that accompanies the Symphony on choral works and concerts ranging from Mozart and Verdi to Video Games Live and The Music of Queen.

Chorus auditions are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1, starting at 6 p.m.

To request an audition time, contact Mary Lynn Wilson at mynn55@comcast.net or by calling 423-304-1535.

Singers should prepare two contrasting selections (at least one aria or art song in a foreign language is preferred, and one Broadway selection is allowed). An accompanist is provided.

The Chorus typically rehearses every Monday evening throughout the season, plus has at least two dress rehearsals during a concert week.
